New Website Features for Autumn 2024 – Includes a ‘New Battery’

After the re-launch of our fully responsive and customer-friendly website in Christmas 2022, we've been working behind the scenes to make it even better.

So, whether this is your first time on our website, or you've shopped with us since we opened for business way back in April 2015, we wanted to give you a taster of what you can expect from 4gadgets in autumn 2024.

One of the biggest worries about buying a refurbished mobile phone is battery life.

Many people think used batteries don't last. This is a myth – at 4gadgets, we thoroughly check all our batteries before we send our phones out. And with iPhones, there's also a requirement to meet Apple's own 80% battery health standard. All our batteries also come with a six-month battery warranty. The battery life then depends on how it's been used, how many charges it's received and other factors such as the conditions it has been subjected to.

However, to ease these worries, we're introducing a brand-new battery. It'll be available on the following Samsung Galaxy model: S20 , S21, S22, S23 and S24. We're expecting it to be popular, so if you want one, you better be quick!

We're launching our gift cards in time for Christmas 2024. You can purchase them as gifts for friends, family or colleagues so they can put them towards buying a second-hand mobile phone from our site. To find a gift card, you can use the search bar at the top of the site and search “gift card.” Our gift cards are available in the following denominations: £10, £25 , £50 and £100 .

You can add multiple gift cards to make up the total you want to send. Your recipient will then get an email with the gift card code, ready for them to redeem at any time!

Our refurbished smartphone models have a habit of coming in and out of stock throughout the year. Want to be the first to know when stock hits our warehouse of the device you're after? You can now set up a stock alert.

Simply visit one of our product pages. When the model variant you wish to purchase appears on a grey background, click the “notify me when back in stock” button. You'll then be able to set up a stock alert for that exact model.

Once back in stock, you'll receive an email notification, so you can get in and place your order. All stock alerts can be managed within your 4gadgets account too. For more information visit our stock FAQs.

We want to make our product pages as easy to navigate as possible. That's why we've created tooltips. They're the little question marks next to our product, grade and, where applicable, new battery options. You'll get lots of useful tips on how to shop with us.

Choosing a new mobile phone can be rather daunting. We've made it slightly less daunting by providing tailored recommendations for alternative devices - those similar in price, technical specification and size. It's a great way to choose the device that meets your exact requirements.

Raylo Pay is a great new way to get the tech you really want at much lower prices. It allows you to pay for your device on a lease model - keeping the costs down.

Our partner Raylo Pay will run a soft credit check to decide on your application. If everything looks good, we'll send you your device just like any other order. And at the end of your lease, you can either upgrade for free, talk to us about keeping it or return it hassle-free.

Alternatively, you can shop via our default payment provider, Stripe, which includes card payments, PayPal and Klarna financing. We also have Amazon Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay available.

If you're familiar with our site, you'll know you can easily toggle to the trade-in section of our site to sell us your old devices. Once you're on the trade-in site, you can now trade in multiple quantities of the same device, simply by increasing the quantity (QTY) of the product you want to sell to us.

The total price of all your trade-ins will then be calculated in the basket and you can seamlessly trade in your products with us.
