10 super practical things you didn't know your iPhone could do

Most iPhone users use their devices daily without taking advantage of all their features. We frequently hear about "hacks" that enable us to use iPhones in previously unimaginable ways, but many of them are impractical or unnecessarily sophisticated for regular usage. As experts in refurbished tech and refurbished Apple phones, we have come up with cool iPhone features, shortcuts, and hacks that can help you get the most out of your refurbished iPhone and simplify your daily routine while being practical

1.Shake your phone to undo your typing

Do you feel like you want to erase the text you are writing? Just shake your phone to bring up the "Undo Typing" option if you make a mistake while typing or just want to delete that risky message. Note this only works in text message, not in what’s app.

2.Set timer for music

If you like to listen to your favourite tunes before you fall asleep, then this tip might be something for you. The iPhone includes a timer in the clock app that can turn off whatever you're watching or listening to (on both Apple Music and Spotify).

Open the Clock application
At the bottom right, choose Timer
Set how long you want the timer to be
Tap when timer ends
Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap stop playing
Tap set at the top right of your screen
Press the start button
Now, you won't have to worry about your iPhone battery dying in the morning because you left your music on.

3.Switch to a one-handed keyboard

On the keyboard, tap and hold the emoji or globe symbol. Three keyboard icons will appear. To shrink the keyboard to the left, tap the left icon, and to shrink the keyboard to the right, tap the right icon. Unless you actively alter the option, your smartphone will remain in one-handed mode.

4.Backspace on the calculator app

If you just typed the wrong number on your calculator, don’t worry. Your calculator app allows you to delete what you just typed by swiping left or right, so you don’t have to start over from scratch.  Of course you can still press C, but this way is far cooler!

5.Record a video and take a picture at the same time

Simply hit the shutter symbol next to the video button to take a snapshot while making a video. The only disadvantage is that the shot is captured by the video camera's sensors, which means it will not be as high-quality as the rest of your photos.

6.Take a photo when your storage is full

That dreaded "Storage Full" notification always pops up at the wrong moment. Thankfully, you can click on the camera option in your Facebook or Twitter app instead. By starting a new tweet or post using the camera icon, and then taking your photo, the resulting picture will be saved to your camera roll.

7. Add captions to photos and videos

With the newest iPhone update, you can now add subtitles or keywords to each photo or video you shoot. Simply add a description by swiping up on an image or video, and it will be saved to your iCloud photos right away. To quickly find the photograph later, just type the caption or keyword into the iPhone's search app.

8. Hide photos

When you hand your iPhone over to someone else, they can swipe and accidentally view something you don't want them to see. Fortunately, you can prevent that from happening by hiding selected photos.

Open the photos app.
Open the album containing the photo(s) you want to hide.
Tap select in the upper right corner.
Select the photo (s) you want to hide.
Tap the share icon at the bottom left.
Tap the hide icon at the bottom right.
Select hide photo.
To unhide it simply locate the hidden folder in photos and select unhide.

9.Turn iPhone calculator into a scientific calculator

Did you know that you can use the calculator app to perform exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and not just simple arithmetic calculations? To do this, just simply rotate your iPhone to landscape orientation.

10.Straighten out your iPhone photos with a grid

If you want to use your iPhone's camera for more than just selfies and portraits, you'll want to frame everything as straight as possible. If you activate iOS' camera grid, this becomes much easier. Unfortunately, turning the grid on and off in iOS isn’t intuitive. In fact, it’s slightly inconvenient since it isn’t even in the Camera app itself–it’s in iOS’ Settings. To begin, go to the settings app and select photos & camera from the drop-down menu. Scroll down to the camera section and touch on the grid switch in the photos & camera settings.

So there you have it. Lots of new fun and quirky ways to use your phone and impress your mates! Find a refurbished iPhone that’s right for you today.
