4gadgets is an online reseller of high quality, refurbished and second-hand mobile phones at competitive prices in different colours, grades and storage options. Many of our phones are in pristine condition and “like new”. As we have over 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, we know exactly what our customers’ needs are, so we can offer the best affordable handsets on the market. At 4gadgets we sell second-hand phones, tablets, laptops, smart watches and accessories. We add new stock regularly so make sure you keep checking our website to see what we have.

To search for the products on our website, we recommend using the search bar at the top of our website. You can also search by brand and find your item via each of our category options. Not currently. If the product you are looking for is temporary out of stock, it will prevent you from adding the product to your basket.

However, if the product you are looking for is not currently in stock and you’re happy to wait for it to replenish, we can notify you as soon as the stock is back in. To do this, you must select all three options on the product page (network, storage and grade), scroll down the page and enter your email address and any additional comments in the box that appears below the listing.

All of our discount codes are communicated via marketing promotions so the best thing to do is to sign up for our newsletter and connect with our social platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Alternatively, our promotions are featured on our website and deals page, so it is worth checking our website regularly to grab yourself a bargain! We do not allow our customers to use more than one discount code for the same order.

Unfortunately, we do not offer gift wrapping currently. However, we are planning to add this service in the future, and we will communicate this to you via our newsletter as soon as this is available.

Yes, once you place your items in your basket, you can come back at a later time or date and your products will still be in your basket, however they will not be reserved should they be bought by another customer.

Once you have placed an order, you will normally receive your email order confirmation instantaneously or at the very latest within a couple of minutes.  If you cannot find it, it is most likely to be located in your junk/spam. If after this time, you have not received your confirmation, it may be that your order has failed to process, or that the email address used on your order was incorrect.  At this point we advise you to contact our customer services team at sales@4gadgets.co.uk, or call us on 0800 111 4458.

Payment

The information you need to provide when making an online payment depends on the payment method you choose. If you choose Sagepay, you simply need a valid credit or debit card and to enter your name, card number, expiry date and CVC number. Klarna is the same but you will also be required to provide your phone number and email address. If you choose PayPal or Amazon Pay, your payment details are usually already set up in your account but please check the correct card and address has been selected. We do not store any payment information and all payment transactions are handled securely by our third-party providers.

After you place a successful order on our website via Sagepay, Amazon Pay or PayPal, your payment is taken out of your bank account immediately, but it can sometimes take up to 5 days to show in your bank account. For further information, please check with your bank. For Klarna payments, one third of your payment is removed from your bank account after the item ships from our warehouse.

In most cases, online payments are quick and convenient, but if your payment keeps failing to go through, we advise you to make sure that:

  • You entered the correct card information
  • Your card is not expired
  • You have entered a correct password on the 3D secure pop-up
  • You have sufficient funds on your account

It would also be wise to try using a different card. In rare cases, the transaction may also be declined if your recent activity triggers your bank security systems. If this happens, please contact your bank for further assistance.

Delivery

  • All orders over £40 are dispatched on the same working day via a free of charge next day delivery service with DPD, subject to the order being placed before 3pm.  
  • All orders less than £40 are shipped on the same working day via a free of charge 48-hour delivery service with Royal Mail, subject to the order being placed before 3pm.   

If an order is placed after 3pm on a Friday, your order will not be shipped until Monday for delivery on Tuesday as we do not process orders on a weekend. This includes bank holidays. For more information, please refer to our delivery page.

You are only required to pay for delivery if the items in your basket add up to less than £40. If you are spending over £40, delivery is free of charge.

If you require your order to be delivered on either a Saturday or Sunday, you can pay £10 for this service. You must place your order before 3pm on a Friday and you must be at home at the time of delivery – DPD will notify you of this time on the day of your delivery – unfortunately we are not able to inform you prior to this time.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to deliver your order to a different address once you order has been placed due to security and insurance policies.

All orders delivered via DPD must be signed for – it is your responsibility to ensure you are available to receive delivery. DPD will notify you in the morning of your delivery with a 1-hour time slot. If you are unable to receive your delivery, DPD will leave a calling card to inform you they will try to deliver your item the following day. This will be updated on your order within ‘My Account’ on www.4gadgets.co.uk. If you are unable to receive your delivery the second time, your order will be returned to our warehouse and you will need to arrange for your order to be re-shipped at your own expense.

All orders delivered via Royal Mail will be on our Special delivery (arrives next day by 1pm, insured up to £500) service and tracking will be available in your ‘My Account’ on www.4gadgets.co.uk

All orders delivered via DPD and Royal mail must be signed for – it is your responsibility to ensure you are available to receive delivery. The DPD driver will take a photo of your open door and parcel upon receipt – they should never take a photo of you.

On the rare occasion that an item is incorrectly dispatched from our warehouse, please call us on 0800 111 4458 and our team will advise you on next steps. We will then arrange for the new device to be sent out as soon as we have confirmation from our courier that the old phone has been collected.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive an order completed email with your tracking number included. You can then track your delivery using the tracking number in your email, or you can navigate to ‘My Account’ on www.4gadgets.co.uk and you can find your tracking number by clicking on your most recent ‘order number’ or ‘view order’.

Unfortunately, we do not currently ship to the Channel Islands (Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney or Sark), Isle of Man or any international country. Deliveries to Scottish Highlands and Islands are shipped on a 2-3 day service, subject to DPD’s availability.

Yes, however please let us know immediately by contacting sales@4gadgets.co.uk after placing your order when you would like your item shipped so we can schedule it accordingly. Unfortunately, there are no options to inform us on our website currently.

Returns, Refund, Cancellations

You can cancel an order by sending us your order number, which is found on your order confirmation email, which will have been sent immediately after you placed your order. If you cannot find it, please check your junk/spam folder. You can then contact us to cancel via sales@4gadgets.co.uk, by calling us on 0800 111 4458 or via Live Chat.

If you change your mind and decide you no longer want to keep the product(s) we’ve delivered, we will provide a full refund providing the following conditions are met:

  • The product is returned to us within the returns period stated as per the date you placed your order
  • The product is returned to us in its original packaging
  • The product is returned to us in the same condition we delivered it to you
  • The product meets our returns requirements
  • The correct returns procedure is followed (set out below)

Once your item has been received, we will usually process your refund within 48 hours but always within 4 working days, Monday to Friday, subject to your item meeting our terms and conditions. Please note that card payments may take between 1-3 working days to process. If you made your payment via PayPal, Amazon or Klarna, you will receive your refund instantly.

Yes, you can add a shipping address that is different from your billing address. However, once your order has been confirmed, we are unable to change your address on our system – at this point you should contact us and we will cancel your order and request you to place a new order with the correct shipping information. 

Product Information

Every purchase made on 4gadgets will automatically include a 12-month warranty. If a product is found to be faulty or defective within 12 months, we will offer a free repair or replacement, subject to our warranty. If the battery of one of our phones is faulty or defective within the first 6 months, we will offer a free repair or replacement.

Our testing includes strict checks of the IMEI (against the GSMA Stolen/Lost database), case condition, screen condition, buttons, headphone ports, earpiece, speakers, microphones, touch screen, LCD, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, camera, SIM reader and network connectivity, USB port, battery, accelerometer and finger-print reader (if applicable), appropriate software detection and blacklist checks. In total we make up to 90 individual checks across different devices. Should a handset fail any one of these tests, we simply do not sell it.

All batteries are tested before we are able to sell them and they must meet a certain threshold, regardless of the condition i.e. the battery health must be minimum 80% - Apple themselves consider phones with a battery capacity above 80% to be in optimal condition.  We also offer a 6-month battery warranty in case of any faults or issues.  For further information about how to protect your battery please refer to our blog on saving your battery.

With every order we will also send you:

  • 4Gadgets branded secure box.
  • USB Charger Cable (If you've bought an Apple product this will be a genuine Apple Lightning cable)
  • Sim tool (If the handset requires one)
  • 12 Months Warranty

Please note that chargers / plugs are not included.

No, we complete a data wipe to make sure all of our phones are completely cleared of all previous users’ data. We have strict checks to make sure all handsets are sent out with no previous users’ data at all.

Before shipping any of our products, we run strict checks to make sure you receive an unlocked phone.  In rare cases we may send a locked phone – if you receive a locked phone please give us a call on 0800 111 4458 and our customer service team will request an unlock code for you which you can then input from home. Please take great care inserting this unlock code into your device because failure to input the correct code will result in you having to send the phone back to us for further resolution.

All of our handsets are fully tested and working however some are in better condition than others. Each condition explained below:

Pristine

  • These devices will be in Pristine condition and look as good as new.
  • Cosmetically the gadget will look near perfect.  If the gadget has any imperfections, they will be very minor.  The screen will be unmarked. 
  • These devices are ideal for people who want to save money on refurbished tech but want to maintain the highest quality in their handset. 
  • It’s been fully tested, is in full working order and has been restored to the latest operating system.

Excellent

  • These devices are in excellent condition.
  • Cosmetically the gadget may show signs of slight use, including minor scratches to the screen and casing. It won’t have cracks on the screen or casing.
  • These devices are ideal for people who want to feel safe in the knowledge their phone looks great regardless of whether they are using a case to cover up any minor scratches. 
  • It’s been fully tested, is in full working order and has been restored to the latest operating system.

Very Good

  • These devices are in Very Good condition. The screen will have minimal cosmetic issues. There will be signs of wear and tear on the casing and rear of the device.
  • The previous owner likely used a screen protector, but no case.
  • These devices are ideal for someone that will put the phone straight into a case but still want a clean screen, whilst saving money!
  • The device has been fully tested to ensure it is in fully working order.

Good

  • These devices are in good condition. There will be some minor signs of wear and tear on the screen and casing.
  • The previous owner didn’t use a case or screen protector as they weren’t too bothered about minor marks.
  • These devices are ideal for someone who is not fussed about scratches and only cares about the quality of the software, whilst saving as much as possible  
  • This device has been fully tested to ensure it is in full working order.

Warranty

Some of our Samsung, iPhones and iPads sold on the website still have a manufacturer’s warranty. With every product sold Apple and Samsung give a 12-month warranty. So that means some of our most recently launched handsets will still be under Apple or Samsung warranty, meaning you get a manufacturer’s warranty and a 4gadgets warranty together!

Every purchase made on 4gadgets will automatically include a 12-month warranty. 

If a product is found to be faulty or defective within 12 months, we will offer a free repair or replacement.

If the battery of one of our phones is faulty or defective within the first 6 months, we will offer a free repair or replacement.

Our returns policy will only cover manufacturer faults and does not cover the following:

  • Damage caused by liquid
  • Intentional damage
  • Damage caused by dropping the product or intentional mistreatment
  • Damage caused by attempting to repair or adapt the device by yourself or a third party
  • Improper use of accessories
  • Faults or damage that may arise due to normal wear and tear – e.g. scratches to touchscreen.
  • Acceptable Battery life depletion.
  • Any handset that has been Jailbroken or rooted after sale.
  • Screen burn that has developed over the time of ownership 

If the device received has one of the above issues, the warranty would be considered void and we would not be able to accept a return. 

If your original order is returned within 14 days and you purchase a separate device from us on a new order, your warranty will start from the date you place your new order.

If we are repairing or replacing your device during the 12-month warranty period, the warranty remains in place from the date you placed your original order.

General (Other Information)

You can log into ‘My Account’ and change your email, password, or address details. You can also change your newsletter opt in preferences.

Yes, we recommend signing up to our newsletter to access our exclusive news and special offers. You can do this by entering your email address in the footer of every page on our website.

Once your order has been shipped, you can log into ‘My Account’, navigate to order history and click on View PDF to find a downloadable PDF invoice with our VAT number located in the top left corner.  However, we are unable to provide a VAT invoice as all our prices are calculated under the second-hand VAT margin scheme, therefore you are unable to claim the VAT back.  A VAT invoice can be supplied upon request, but it will not itemise the VAT. 

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer on-site collection or pick up from our offices at this time. However, you can take advantage of our free delivery and have your item delivered to any UK address of your choosing. 

We work with third party websites who promote our brand on our behalf, but you should never purchase items from any website claiming to be affiliated with 4gadgets. For example, cool4gadgets.mobi is a scam website and have listed our address despite not being in any way connected to 4gadgets.
