With the recent release of Samsung's Galaxy S7 back in February it’s proven very popular. With a little patience and persistence, here at 4gadgets we are very pleased to announce that we are now stocking the S7 and S7 Edge models, in sleek Black Onyx and stunning Gold Platinum colours. The S7 itself may look pretty similar to its predecessor but once you see and hold the device for the first time you won’t want to put the phone down.
On display the S7 is not just pretty to look at but its curved edges and smooth casing make it feel like a completely different phone when held in-hand. Samsung has improved and revised the winning design of the S6 and evidently listened to their customers by righting the wrongs of the previous flagship. Taking a look at its main enhancements, Samsung have made improvements to the following:
Battery
Samsung have upgraded from the predecessor’s Li-Ion 2550 mAh battery to a Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery for the S7 and 3600 mAh for the S7 edge. This is something users have been crying out for since the S6 release.
Camera
The S7 includes a stronger, more powerful camera even though it’s decreased from 16MP to 12MP. While that sounds like a downgrade, in truth it's a big change for the better, letting in more light – 25% more, thanks to the 56% larger pixels being used. The other technical enhancements of the camera include phase detection autofocus, OIS, LED flash. No change with the front camera staying at 5MP.
Wireless Charging
Samsung have made charging your phone even more convenient and easy by introducing the wireless charging dock. You simply put your phone down and it begins charging and the fact it charges very fast makes wireless charging so phenomenal.
Water and dust proof
The Galaxy S7 edge and S7 can with stand up to 30 minutes or 1.5 meters under water. Samsung have also worked out how to completely seal off the inside components whilst keeping micro USB ports and earphone jacks open, so there’s no fiddling around with extra caps or covers.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display giving infinite contrast and punchy colours with dual curved edges. The curves are small, just barely hugging the sides, very much similar to the ones on the S6 edge. The S7 edge comes with an Always-On display feature, same as on the S7. It offers you a choice to have a clock, a calendar, an image, or a combination of those, displayed during standby. Basic notifications will also show up, like missed calls and texts.
