As you have almost definitely have heard by now, Samsung are gearing up to launch the newest device in the Galaxy range, the Samsung Galaxy S10. But what can you expect to see? We take a look at some of the latest rumours and supposed ‘leaks’.
The most striking rumoured feature is the “Pinhole” camera. A floating front camera on the screen, the idea being that it frees up the bezel to be reduced even more. We can really see this being a ‘Marmite’ style Love it or Hate it feature, but you cannot deny it’s definitely a step forward in screen technology! This rumour has picked up a bit of traction as Samsung have also just announced the “Galaxy A8S” which also includes this Pinhole style camera, which means it’s highly likely to feature on the S10.
It is also highly likely that Samsung will include the in-screen fingerprint scanner, as seen in the Mate 20 Pro. This allows them to completely do away with a dedicated fingerprint scanner, freeing up more of that precious real estate to reduce those pesky bezels even further. It may even mean that Samsung are embedding the speakers and earpiece inside of the screen, which seems to be corroborated by a display prototype Samsung have recently been working on.
A rumour that also doesn’t seem to go away is that Samsung will likely launch 3 phones together: the S10, S10 Plus and the S10 Lite (rumoured to also be called the S10 E). The names are quite self-explanatory as to what to expect from the devices, the S10 Plus having a Bigger screen and possibly some performance upgrades, the S10 Lite being a less powerful, cheaper device. As shown in the photo above, there are a few leaks with contrasting information, but the screen size and names to seem to be consistent.
Another leak states Samsung may be finally considering ditching the headphone jack, the same way many of it’s near rivals have. This gives us mixed opinions, but the industry does definitely seem to be moving in the direction away from the Jack.
Battery life is also a key point for most phone buyers. It seems that the S10 Lite, S10 and S10 plus will have a 3,100mAh, 3,500mAh and 4,000mAh battery respectively. It’s also been rumoured that the S10 could have a whopping 5,000mAh battery, although this does seem to be unlikely.
Whatever happens, we are totally excited to see what Samsung have come up with. By most accounts, we could find out around the end of February to early March. Be sure to keep an eye on the launch at http://www.4gadgets.co.uk, the only place to go to get your used and Refurbished Samsung devices.
